Meet Hazel

Hazel is a 9 month old, Mini Schnauzer we adopted this past March from our local shelter.  She is very sweet, full of energy and does not bark alot like a typical Schnauzer.  She loves to dig in dirt and make a mess of herself -- she gets a bath weekly.  She is our third Schnauzer and fourth family dog.  She shares our house with Gracie, our 8 year old, overweight English Bulldog/Boxer mix.  They make and interesting pair.

Another CJC Project Finished and Giveaway

Last night while watching the Olympics I finished another project that I started in January as part of the year long Crazy January Challenge.  A Very Merry Christmas from JBW Designs was visited by the frog several times while I was stitching the border, I guess the excitement of the Olympics distracted me.  All I need is a tiny star button to put on top of the tree to make it truly complete.

A Very Merry Christmas
JBW Designs
16ct Fiddlers Cloth
DMC Floss
Now for the giveaway.  Never one to stitch the same project twice (with one exception) I want to send A Very Merry Christmas to a new home.

SNTA Ornament Finish

Holiday Berries Sampler Block
Design Stitching the Night Away
28 Ct Tan Monaco
DMC Floss

This little gem is from Stitching the Night Away Ornament Club that I recently joined.  Holiday Berries was the first pattern I received and I knew I would have to stitch up immediately.  The designed called for metallic threads, but I changed to DMC cotton floss. I am not a fan of stitching with metallics, I don't keep any in my stash and I am trying to use what I have on hand because I have so much floss.  I also decided to substitute gold floss for the silver.  Looking forward to the next ornament pattern.

Leftover Thread - STNA Blog Hop #7

Stitching the Night Away Stitching Bloggers Blog Hop

SNTA Blog Hop Asks: What do you do with the floss, thread, beads, and other elements you have left over from full project kits?

Well, when I used to buy prepacked kits I would toss all the excess when I finished the project.  That is one of the reasons I stopped buying kits--lots of waste and most times poor quality threads.  I like to freedom of picking my own fabrics and floss colors, I find it less wasteful and I am using products that I like.

Enjoy!!
