TUSAL January

Woo Hoo!!  I have managed to make a second post for TUSAL this year.  That is what happens when you upgrade to a smart phone.  I am too cheap to pay a monthly phone plan so I have been waiting for years, many years, for Trac Fone to add smart phones to their inventory.  Hurrah for my smart Samsung Galaxy Centura, it was worth the wait.  I love the little reminders I can program on the calendar and the easy access to my photos.  I shouldn't miss on TUSAL this year.

CJC 2014 - Project #15 Winter Greens

My final CJC 2014 start is Winter Greens from Little House Needleworks "All Dolled Up" collection. So happy to reach my last start, I am only 5 days behind. I plan to get lots of stitching done during the Olympics. This should do it for me, until I finish a few pieces no new starts and my poor little cross stitch basket is overflowing.

CJC 2014 - Project #14 Cozy Inn

Another Little House Needleworks start for 2014. This is Cozy Inn form the Just Cross Stitch 2013 Christmas ornament magazine. I am truly hoping to have lots of handmade ornaments for my tree this year or at least for gifts. I have a new sewing machine so I have no excuses for not getting ornament completed this year.

CJC 2014 - Project #13 Winter Samper

Project #13 of my CJC 2014 list is Little House Needleworks, Winter Sampler. I found this pattern in my December 2009 Just Cross Stitch Christmas magazine. I am stitching it on coffee dyed Monaco that I dyed myself, that was a fun experiment. The fabric is actually much darker than the picture shows.   I dyed anther piece a nice shade of rose using herbal tea.

CJC 2014 - Project #12 Silent Night

Here is start #12, Silent Night, a free design from Elizabeth Foster. I am sure I picked this up from a needle work shop because I cannot find it on the web.  I am stitching it on a scrap of blue over dyed aida from Enchanted Fabrics that is no longer in business. I always enjoyed getting fabric from EF, I was hoping she would start back up again after moving--she is a military wife so I imagine it hard to maintain a business when you have move often.

Sunbonnet Finished!!

My first finish of 2014, Sunbonnet that I stitched for the Quilts for Older Children and Adults Yahoo Group. This one was a finger killer, I have not stitched a such a solid piece in a long time. CJC 2014 - Project #10 Sampler Winter

Well, I am a little behind with my CJC 2014 starts, hubby was home sick for a week, now that he is back to work I can play catch up.  I also had to concentrate on a piece I needed to finish for a charity group. For my 10th start of the new year I chose a free pattern, Sampler Winter by Marika Belfiori.  I have been holding on to this pattern for years waiting for the right time to stitch it.  I am having trouble finding the pattern on line again but you can click on the designers name to get to her blog, not sure if she is still actively blogging her last post was April 2013.

Turtle Trot 2014

CJC 2014 - Project #7 2011 Santa

Last year this pattern was part of my CJC 2013 list along with another Santa. I was stitching it on Khaki Davos just like the picture on the card. Well, I ended pitching both of them into the bin. I absolutely did not like the Davos at all, the weave was too loose and my stitches slipped. So now here he is again in 2014, but on aida this time round. I am sure this one will not end up in the trash.

CJC 2014 - Project #6 Joy and Peace

Here is my 6th CJC 2014 start, even though I started this a while back I decided to add to my list. Recently I joined a Little House Needleworks SAL. I plan to stitch many LHN projects this year, I chose Joy and Peace first. This will make a great gift for someone's tree in December. Never to early to start thinking about Christmas.

CJC 2014 - Project #4 Sunbonnet

I decided to follow a few other in the CJC 2014 challenge and post a project that I have been working on for a few months. This one has never appeared on my blog or on my Turtle Trot list, just one of those projects I have been working on for Quilts fo Older Children and Adults called Sunbonnets. CJC 2014 - Project #3 Kitty Love

This is Kitty Love a SAL for the Yahoo GroupQuilts for Older Children and Adults . This one is stich with three similar colors on white aida. 
I believe this will be used in a quilt for an animal rescue fund raiser.  Q4OCA not only supports people with serious illnesses we also look after shelter animals.

CJC 2014 - Project #2 Dragon Fly Baby

CJC Project #2, EMS Designs Dragon Baby. I love stitching these babies, even though there is several colors I love the outcome and the fact there are no specialty stitches. I find this type of "big" project very therapeutic. Once the stitching is finished this project will be sent off to Quilts for Older Children and Adults for a young girl named Renee.

CJC 2014 - Project #1 Mini Train

This is my first Crazy January 2014 start. It is a small train designed by Crystal Deibel and stitched for the Quilts for Older Children and Adults Yahoo Group. This is one of many I will be stitching for the group this year. This patch when finished will be added to a quilt for a young boy called, Jonathan.

The picture is sideways, but I think you can tell that this is the top of a train car.

TUSAL 2014 January ORT Report

Good Morning and Happy New Year.  Here is my first post of 2014.  My jar is nearly empty, but I plan to add lots more orts this month as I enter the 2014 Crazy January Challenge and the 2014 Turtle Trot.  More to come on both projects.
