Monday Stitching Update...

Today, I received some nice comments on my blog from Jeannie, the lady I mentioned in my last post. She is truly a generous soul and I am very lucky to have met her. I hope we keep in touch.

I started this journey to Ohio with five projects to stitch. I have gone as far as I can on two of them, I had to stop them because I ran out of floss. The Blue Ribbon Design "Alphabet Tree" is stitched with "Indian Paint Brush" from Ozark Sampler. Well, I contacted them for more floss and was sadly informed that it was a speciality floss that was made in limited quantity and the well is dry. Not sure what to do about this one. Perhaps I will jsut scrap it and start over with a different color.

I am afraid I have run into the same problem with "Welcome" designed by Aury. Fortunately, I was able to order more floss from 123stitch today, unfortunately I won't be able to finish it until I get home. This is stitched on 16ct Fairy Blush from Enchanted Fabrics using The Gentle Art "Old Red Paint" floss. You will notice I changed the orientation so the word "Welcome" will be read top to bottom. There is a little frogging to be done in the future, once I ran out of thread I realized I made a few boo-boo's that while not major I feel compelled to fix. The picture did not come out so good, but it really looks pretty so please disregard my poor photograhy skills. My son wants me to buy more material like this because he just loves the color. One day he wants to learn how to stitch.

Tomorrow I will start a new project, a scissor pocket, for the Monthly Finishing Challenge. I will have lots of time to stitch the next two weeks while my son is in the hospital so should be no problem getting it done. I have enough floss to complete it and if I should happen to run out, which seems to be my luck these days, I am using DMC and there is a Michael's and Hobby Lobby in the local area.

Have a great day.

CJ

Hello, Please don't scrap the Alphabet tree,it looks lovely,
If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion,If you just frog the letters and use a similar colour to do them in, you can get away with it,I used different colours on mine that I did

That is sooo frustrating to run out of floss in the middle of a project(s)!

Best wishes to your son :)

So sorry about your floss problems. Both pieces are very pretty and I hate to think of your BRD one being scrapped. Hope things go well with your son. Happy Stitching, CJ (this one is in OK)

What about frogging the alphabet on the tree and do them with a different floss?

Your other pieces look great, CJ.

The stitcher on http://pullupaneedleandstitch.wordpress.com recently (May 5 post) received some Indian Paintbrush from a friend. Maybe you could contact her and work something out. :)

Hi CJ! Oh that really stinks about the Alphabet Tree. I have a similar problem and have just been ignoring it! I'm stitching this 3+ ft pattern; And They Sinned, and the Pebble thread I'm using ran out. Its still made, but doesn't look at all like the Pebble I started with. Several have sent me some Pebble, but none have matched. I don't want to frog it, so I just ignore it and its in the forgotten UFO pile!
Welcome looks great! I hope to stitch this piece sometime soon!
