Two more Crazy January Challenge 2013 starts to share today. That leaves 5 more to get started before the end of the month. Easy as pie!! The first picture is of the Christmas Pear from Samplers and Santas blog. I love these pears and I am anxiously awaiting publication of the February Pear. The second photo is of Quaker Apple by AuryTM this used to be a freebie on her site long ago. I am so glad I hung on to it.

Latest CJC 2013 Starts and a New Basket

Well I have fallen behind in my stitching because I have been spending too much time on my card blog and I spent last weekend at a basket weaving convention.  I do have two more starts to share with you.  Only one will be shown here, the other is an exchange gift so it cannot be shown until it is in the hands of my exchange partner.

I do love basket weaving and when I saw this basket I knew it had to be mine and that it would be perfect for all my cross stitch projects.  It is fairly large and deep.  It was made by Jan Schmidt, one of my favorite weaving instructors.  You can find her work here at Baskets by Jan.

In my next post I will share pictures of the baskets I made at the convention.

Back on the TUSAL Train

After missing most of 2012 I have gotten back on the Total Useless Stitch Along New Moon train.  Each month I will attempt to show my "orts".  I am a few days late with this one, new moon was the 11th,  but I guess that is better than two weeks late.

TUSAL January 2013
January is always good stitching month for me with the Crazy January Challenge starting. Instead of keeping all my "orts" for the year, I am going to empty it each new moon so I may display my monthly progress. Next new moon is February 10th.

Enjoy!!

A CJC Finish and Three CJC Starts to Share

My stitching fingers have been hot lately, just stitching away trying to catch up with my new CJC starts before the 15th which is when I leave for a basket weaving convention.  While watching the Wild Card Playoffs this weekend I managed to start and finish Samplers and Santas Pear II--lovely!!  I am in love with this piece, the colors are fabulous and it just makes me smile.  I am not one to stitch a pattern more than once, but this one has potential to be a repeat project for me.

CJC 2013 Stiching Started

I have finally started two of my new Crazy January Challenge 2013 projects. Both are from The Prairie Schooler and I am so happy they use the same color floss so I can work on them together.  I plan to take them to the Texas Basket Weavers Association weaver's weekend to work on in my downtime.

After stitching on these two pieces I have found that I am not a fan of Davos fabric, the weave is to loose and the stitches tens to slip.  I am having to be very creative with my stitching to ensure my X's look like X's and not a vertical bar.  I am having to complete each X as I go along--what a pain.  Once this fabric is used up I will not be buying more for my other PS Santa's ( I have the entire annual Santa collection).

Enjoy!!

Tipsy Tree Finish

This little project was stitched up in 2012, finished it on 30 December.  We went out of town and did not have the time to post a picture of it before we headed of to Granny's for few days.  So here it is for you to check out.  It is a Mill Hill freebie.  I choose not to add the beads, I am not a fan of beading so I opted to substitute floss in the color of the beads listed on the pattern.  It is different and will make a cute tree ornament for Christmas 2013.

Stitching the Night Away Blog Hop #14

Stitching the Night Away Stitching Bloggers Blog Hop

STNA #14 asks:

What was your biggest stitching accomplishment in 2012?
What was your favorite stash acquisition in 2012 and will you be using it in 2013?

My biggest accomplishment for 2012 was just having time to stitch.  My family life is very busy and my stiching time is very limited so when I have time to sit quietly and stitch, I feel a little closer to Heaven.

I would have to say my favorite stash acquisiton for 2012 was finding the Samplers and Santas blog.  I love her free pear patterns and her blog is such a pleasure to view.  I have three of Samplers and Santas patterns on my Crazy January Challange blog list to complete for 2013.

Happy Stitching!!
